To shine a light on their contributions, we created our “Care of People” series, a space where we share the journeys, challenges, and triumphs of our employees.

In this installment, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Indy and Gabriela, two extraordinary individuals whose stories reflect the spirit of SCM Frigo.

Meet Indy and Gabriela

Though they work in different areas of the company, Indy and Gabriela share a common thread: both have grown professionally and personally within a supportive and empowering environment at SCM Frigo.

Indy began his journey with SCM Frigo focusing on the APAC market, where the adoption of CO2 technology was still in its infancy. With a background in technical expertise, Indy found himself at the forefront of introducing advanced refrigeration solutions to a market that was initially hesitant. “Our technical expertise has led to our customers gaining more confidence in what we say and offer” Indy explains. His experience highlights how the company’s values of innovation and quality are embodied in everyday work, driving the adoption of sustainable technologies globally.

Indy emphasizes the positive and supportive culture within SCM Frigo. “The culture within SCM Frigo is full of positivity and a ‘can-do’ approach. Over the year of working with the team in Italy, I found the day-to-day support is way beyond expectations. This support has given me the confidence to approach the APAC market knowing I have a great team backing me in Italy.”

Gabriela joined SCM Frigo six years ago, eager to take on new challenges within the logistics department. Over the years, she has grown significantly, both professionally and personally, mastering the complexities of logistics while developing strong teamwork and communication skills. “In our logistics department, we realize that we are part of a much larger final picture in the company’s value chain. This understanding has shaped the way we approach challenges, always with a focus on customer satisfaction and collective decision-making.”

For Gabriela, working at SCM Frigo means being part of a cohesive team where mutual support and constant communication are key to overcoming obstacles. “The challenges can range from coordinating transportation to solving last-minute issues. We face these challenges together, discussing the best approach and supporting each other to ensure that every delivery meets our high standards of service.”

Daily Life at SCM Frigo and Core Values

Both stories reflect the core values that define SCM Frigo: a commitment to excellence, a focus on sustainability, and a culture of collaboration. These values are not just words but are lived experiences, as seen in the ways both Indy and Gabriela have grown in their roles.

Indy, for instance, has seen firsthand how SCM Frigo’s dedication to technical expertise and customer service has transformed the APAC market’s approach to CO2 technology. “When the journey started in APAC, the systems installed were quite basic, and no one really wanted to try advanced technology. But with strong technical expertise and customer service, customers are now asking for advanced technology in their offers.”

 

Gabriela, on the other hand, speaks to the teamwork and planning that is central to her role in logistics. “We develop detailed delivery plans but are always ready to adjust these plans in response to new situations. This flexibility, combined with a strong sense of mutual support, ensures that we can meet customer needs even in the face of unexpected challenges.”

Behind the Scenes: Challenges and Support

Indy and Gabriela have faced challenges in their roles, but they have done so with the support and trust of SCM Frigo. Indy recalls how his role expanded beyond his initial responsibilities, allowing him to hone his skills in project management. “Spending some time in this role is allowing me to hone my skills and get more into project management. SCM put their trust in me by allowing me to experience this task with a level of autonomy in which I find myself comfortable.”

Gabriela also reflects on how SCM Frigo has supported her through challenges, both professional and personal. Recently, she faced a new personal challenge and was met with an outpouring of support from her colleagues. “This made me realize even more that at SCM Frigo, I don’t just have coworkers; I have friends who encourage me and stand by me during this new adventure.”
