“CARE OF PEOPLE”: THE STORIES OF LEVIS AND MARCO
What makes a company more than just a place to work? Its relationships. We understand that every business is ultimately about people – from leaders and colleagues to clients and partners – and that’s why SCM Frigo prioritizes the care of people above everything else.
We have always emphasized listening to and learning from our employees. The ones who bring their creativity, knowledge, and dedication to the office, fabric, and warehouse every day. Likewise, we understand that they make us who we are, and that’s why their well-being is our top priority.
To give you a glimpse of the life of our team members, we have created a new section called “Care of People”. We’ll share stories of our employees – the paths they have taken, the challenges they have faced, and the successes they have celebrated.
We want it to be an honest look at what it truly means to be a part of SCM Frigo.
Meet Levis and Marco
These two stories, despite being from different departments, share common paths. The two were challenged at various points in their careers. Long story short: they proved to be more than capable because they were also involved in a culture of growth and support from SCM Frigo.
Marco Rossi, one of our Quotation Specialists. Three years have gone by since he joined SCM Frigo, and Marco is now focused on the UK and France markets. Levis Patchaya is one of the after-sales engineers from the Service Department.
They make us who we are. We want you to know them, one story at a time.
Daily Life at SCM Frigo and Core Values
“SCM is constantly evolving, and every year is different from the previous one”. This is how Marco describes the company. “Part of this evolution is accomplished thanks to the continuous development of new tools which aim to simplify the internal workflows, increase productivity and enhance the customer experience”.
Levis also reinforces the culture of excellence and customer orientation. “The focus on providing exceptional service to customers has encouraged me to constantly strive for excellence in my work, pushing me to go above and beyond to meet and exceed customer expectations”.
There’s also a collaborative nature within the company. “Working closely with colleagues and team members not only allowed me to learn from their expertise and experience but also encouraged me to contribute my ideas and knowledge to projects and initiatives”, explains Levis.
No matter what, sustainability is always a core and strong value. “As an energy engineer, what makes me proud of being part of SCM Frigo is that I’m working for a company where the ultimate mission is a greener and more sustainable environment”, says Marco.
Two departments. Two ways to align their mission with the company. “As part of the commercial team, I feel like my mission is to manage the first interaction with our customers, explaining to them clearly which are the benefits and strengths of CO2 solutions over HFC ones and which technology is the best in which case. Customers may not be so familiar with CO2 technology, which is the reason why it’s essential to share our knowledge with them”, explains Marco.
“When I joined SCM Frigo SPA as an after-sales engineer, my main responsibilities revolved around providing technical support to customers after purchase. This involved troubleshooting technical issues, diagnosing faults in refrigeration systems, and providing quick and efficient solutions to ensure minimal downtime for our customers. I took on additional duties such as carrying out on-site inspections and audits to assess the performance and condition of installed equipment and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement. Additionally, I became more involved in customer relationship management”, remembers Levis.
Behind the Scenes: Challenges and Support
What Marco and Levis share is how their responsibilities and roles in the company began to expand at the same time as there was a greater concern for detail.
Marco “started as a quotation specialist covering all the main areas, but soon I started focusing more and more on the UK and France markets, developing day by day a stronger connection with the commercial team and the customers”. Marco felt noticed as SCM Frigo challenged him to “temporarily manage the France and UK quotation teams”.
“Spending some time in this role is allowing me to hone my skills and get more and more into project management. This involves both commercial and technical knowledge, each essential to grow as a professional and take my career to the next level. SCM put their trust in me by allowing me to experience this task with a level of autonomy in which I find myself comfortable. Thanks to this, I feel my skills improving each day, and ready to take on new challenges”.
Levis also describes his experience as an “opportunity to make a significant contribution to the success of our after-sales service and the company as a whole”. “Overall, my responsibilities and roles as an after-sales engineer have evolved significantly since I joined the company. From providing technical support and troubleshooting to taking on leadership roles and contributing strategically to the organization, every step of my journey has been characterized by growth and learning”.
To finish, Marco remembers a situation where he was asked to give an opinion. “At first glance everything seemed to proceed quite fine and without any problem, but I had mixed feelings about the development process. SCM trusted my worries and encouraged me to share my doubts and ideas with the software house, in order to try and find a better match where possible. I do believe this is a clear example of how good communication between companies and employees should always be encouraged. It enables the creation of a better work environment and consequently leads to better products”.
Focus on SCM Frigo’s People
Levis has something to say regarding the way SCM Frigo sees the potential of its employees. “The company offers regular service meetings, training opportunities, and constant updates that have allowed me to continually expand my knowledge and expertise in troubleshooting technical issues. Through these initiatives, I have been able to learn new skills, deepen my understanding of after-sale processes and procedures, and stay current with trends and best practices in the refrigeration industry”.
As we come to the end, let’s take a moment to appreciate Levis and Marco’s stories. Every day, they take every opportunity to contribute to this universe that goes beyond them, but in which they feel so involved. It’s inspiring to put their stories side by side.
